The Concluding Symposium " How tools and models resolve the neuronal networks in the mammalian brain: six years of collaborative research " was held to summarize the achieved results of participating research groups after the total period of funding of 6 years. During the two days meeting all PIs from the first and second funding period were invited to present their achievements concerning research and troika co-operations. The impressive tool development (novel opsins, recording and stimulation electrodes, experimental protocols) served to elucidate the mechanisms of (mis)function of local and large-scale neuronal networks. These key results have been published in numerous high-impact journals.
The coordinator of the Program did also discuss the opportunities, benefits and perspectives of the Priority Program. Furthermore the attending consortium was happy to listen to talks from well-known key-note speakers, as these were Andreas Draguhn, Hans-Christian Pape, Patrick Ruther, Valentina Emiliani, Gustavo Deco and Christoph Kayser.
The program of the meeting is also available.
